WORKING HOURS

Part-time — approximately 8.5 hours per week

SALARY

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED

Swim England/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award
(or willingness to work towards gaining the Level 2 Award)

JOIN OUR TEAM

White Oak Swimming Club is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Level 2 Swimming Coach to lead your own squad and work closely with our Level 1 coaches and Head Coach.

We are a friendly, community‑driven club with a strong family feel, offering lessons and competitive swimming for ages 7 to 18+, from Bronze Squad beginners to Performance swimmers competing at county, regional and national level.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for coaching and swimmer development
  • Is enthusiastic, supportive, and able to motivate swimmers of all abilities
  • Can deliver fun, engaging, and disciplined training sessions
  • Communicates clearly and listens well
  • Holds (or is working towards) a Level 2 Coaching Award
  • Has the ambition and long‑term interest to progress toward a future Head Coach role within the club

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop your own squad
  • Deliver high‑quality, technical and progressive training aligned with the Head Coach’s philosophy and the OADF
  • Create structured, skill‑based session plans
  • Support team selection and monitor swimmer progress
  • Uphold Health & Safety, safeguarding, and equality standards
  • Complete registers on Swim Manager
  • Attend coaches’ meetings and CPD
  • Support club events and competitions
  • Carry out reasonable duties as requested by the Club

COMPETITION SUPPORT

You will attend and support swimmers at:

  • Tudor League
  • White Horse League
  • Kent County Championships
  • South East Regionals
  • Open Meets (as per club calendar)

HEALTH, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

  • Follow SwimMark standards across all activities
  • Report concerns to the Club Welfare Officer
  • Adhere to all Club and Swim England policies, including safeguarding and data protection

OTHER EXPECTATIONS

  • Represent and promote the values of White Oak Swimming Club
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the OADF
  • Attend staff training and CPD
  • Work collaboratively within the coaching team and wider club community

An Enhanced DBS check is required for the successful candidate.
