Additional Equipment For Competitions
If you are swimming at Open Meets/Team Competitions it is recommended that you have the following additional equipment:
- Poolside bag - Small drawstring bag to take essential kit onto the poolside i.e. googles, swim hat, water & snack. Many gala's will not allow large bags to be taken poolside. Don’t forget a £1coin for the lockers at most venues.
- Club T-shirt - A White Oak green club T-Shirt
- Race suit / Jammers - These are optional and can be very expensive. Parents are advised to seek specialist advice from a competition swimwear shop. There are often stalls at galas run by companies such as Swimpath or Mailsports.
- Spare hat & goggles - It is always worth having a spare hat and goggles just in case of loss or breakage.
- Skipping rope - great for warming up pre-race.
- Foam roller - helps loosen tight muscles
- Yoga mat - great for a pre/post swim stretch
